Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day inspection of hardware produced within the business unit.
The control of product quality, cost and schedule are the main drivers.
Inspector - Process Control
To be responsible for the verification of hardware from the production clean rooms including hybrid products. This responsibility extends to those activities being undertaken at both Portsmouth and Stevenage sites.
The Process Control Inspector reports to the Process Control Manager who is responsible for managing the process control team. Since the Business Unit products are integral to the Electronics Centre of Competence, day to day relationships with the manufacturing teams including planners, manufacturing engineers, manufacturing engineering support engineers are also inevitable. A good working relationship with these disciplines shall be maintained.
The Process Control Inspector shall interface and or liaise with all disciplines that supply products to customers such as Prime Customers and Design Engineers. The activities that are to be supported shall include attendance at Non Conforming Review Boards and, Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.

Duties:
1. Inspect products to drawings and associated bills of materials referring to local, national and international standards.
2. Uphold a delegated quality stamp.
3. Support the continuous improvement process by undertaking internal process audits as determined by the Process Control Manage.
4. Undertake day to day duties having due regard to Health and Safety in the workplace.
Skills required:
Electrical engineering apprenticeship or similar training.
Education to relevant GCSE s or City and Guilds in electro mechanical or electronics.
Knowledge of national and international standards such as ISO, ECSS and MIL.
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
