Automotive first tier supplier of injection moulding parts seeks up to four Process/Assembly Engineers for long term contract positions.
Main purpose of the job:
> To support the Assembly UAP in all engineering related matters.
> Support the UAP in achieving it's targets in regards to TRS and scrap allowance.
> Ensure that Group Technical Standards are implemented and adhered to within the UAP.
Task and Responsibilities:
To assist the Assembly UAP achieve the Group standard target of 85% TRS the UAP Engineer (Assembly) will ensure that the following activities /systems are maintained in line with published guidelines
> Cascade and implement Group Technical Standards into the UAP in relation to product assembly machines and their ancillary plant/equipment, product tooling such as foaming/welding/pressing, component demoulding equipment and the associated product gripper systems.
> Assist with the compilation of specifications in line with FES standards for new plant and equipment.
> Lead commissioning programs for the introduction of new plant and equipment.
> Be involved with new program introduction in to the UAP. Must conform to group guidelines and procedures.
> Review on a daily basis the industrial performance of the UAP including machine and equipment TRS and non-TRS, tool set up times and product scrap levels.
> Review and update machine capacity information.
> Create and update cycle time diagram for all processes.
> Review and update when required cycle time information in the standard format. Co-ordinate cycle time reduction plans.
> Create and review and updated as and when necessary area layout drawings.
> Co-ordinate 'small improvement' action plans for subjects of a technical nature.
> Co-ordinate Engineering Change activities in line with requests from Central Engineering.
> Review and update BOM's and Routers.
> Participate in VAVE activities.
> Co-ordinate machine and equipment RUN@RATE trials.
> Update PFMEA as and when necessary.
> Ensure Process Flows are updated as when necessary.
> Manage day to day process issues within the UAP
> Actively participate in scrap reduction programs.
> Advise on Technical matters relating to Health and Safety issues.
Key Competencies / Skills:
> Sound working knowledge of all technical matters relating to assembly processes
> To be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the organisation.
> Trial co-ordination with the necessary administrative requirements.
