The company has concluded that the UK will provide the main basis for further expansion and they are now in the process of setting up a new division in Crawley, West Sussex where there are vacancies for Process (Steam/Water) Design Engineers.

As Process (Steam/Water) Design Engineer you will be responsible for the basic-Engineering of the water-steam-cycle equipment. You will prepare the engineering documentation; update the Piping and Instrument Diagrams P&IDs as well as handle the procurement of the assigned systems (i.e. prepare the technical specification documents, negotiate with suppliers). You will monitor and guide quality, costs and performance progress. Furthermore, you will inform the technical project manager in respect of expected missing of deadlines/delays; cost overruns, risks; contract changes; problems with subcontractors as well as positive events/developments in the project.

As Process (Steam/Water) Design Engineer you will be responsible for the basic-Engineering of the water-steam-cycle equipment. You will prepare the engineering documentation; update the Piping and Instrument Diagrams P&IDs as well as handle the procurement of the assigned systems (i.e. prepare the technical specification documents, negotiate with suppliers). You will monitor and guide quality, costs and performance progress.

Furthermore, you will inform the technical project manager in respect of expected missing of deadlines/delays; cost overruns, risks; contract changes; problems with subcontractors as well as positive events/developments in the project. You will identify and deal with deviations and risks as agreed with the Project Manager. You will also propose changes (technical, deadlines, costs) and submit them to the Project Manager for approval before implementation or additional handling with the customer.

You will also be responsible for the claim Management to the supplier together with the Project Team as well as for costs for the assigned systems. You will also ensure that the requirements of the customers contract as well as the project-specific requirements are satisfied; ensuring constructive supplier relationships. You will have technical leadership of the water-steam cycle, providing others with necessary information concerning UK standards. Close cooperation and exchange of experiences with other project teams and departments will be required.

A degree or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent is necessary as is sound knowledge of the supply/subcontracting market. Successful candidates will have a sound knowledge of the field of water-steam-cycles and piping design. The capability to lead trade discussions with subcontractors as well as sound knowledge and experience in British Standards is also required. You will also have the ability to recognize improvements in existing processes and confidence to implement changes as required.
