Description
Responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Contractual Quality Assurance requirements for products being designed and manufactured by Suppliers/ Subcontractors.
The Engineer will be functionally responsible to the Procurement Manager (PM) for co-ordination, control and timely completion of all quality tasks and for the provision of advice and assistance to the Procurement team to achieve the resolution of quality problems and the verification /certification of contract deliverable items. The Engineer should be able to represent the PM in his absence if so required. He/She should proactively seek to ensure that preventive actions are taken account of for known quality issues thus avoiding repetitive problems It will be necessary to work in a team environment and be able to provide valued inputs into the team, calling upon any specialist knowledge as appropriate. At times it may be necessary to cross boundaries to achieve the common aim or meet deadlines.
The engineer shall be able to work autonomously within the Product/Project team but where necessary has the right to refer any matter to the Product Assurance Manager for resolution.
The Engineer will maintain a level of contact with the Product Assurance Manager to keep said Manager informed of the status of that particular product
The Engineer must always act as the main interface with Subcontractors on all quality issues ; define and/or negotiate all quality requirements for Suppliers and Subcontractors and monitor the implementation of these requirements by liaison and audits.

Basic Knowledge
Proven Experience in Product assurance
Knowledge of Product Assurance requirements for Space and/or Aerospace application
HNC / Degree in appropriate technical subject
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
