Procurement career opportunity with large organisation whose area of focus is on energy construction projects.
Principal Buyer
The general purpose of the role is to provide efficient and cost effective value added procurement support to Projects and Proposals teams.
The key duties for this position are:
To become Product Champion in this specific area and provide support to Proposals and all projects.
Development of Product specific sourcing strategies.
Identification of new potential competitive sources for supply of the above equipment.
Development of strategic purchasing initiatives and implementation of the same.
Managing negotiations with potential suppliers, sub-contractors and service providers.
Providing assistance and advice to all Regional Procurement Groups on products in area of expertise.
Liason with Expediting to understand how suppliers in product area are performing.
The successful applicant will have a HNC (Business Studies or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent qualification. Associated Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) would be an advantage.
