Principals Systems Engineer
World leader in the design and manufacture of electric motors, and control systems for electric vehicles, through significant investment and innovation the company has developed an innovative motor/drive package offering enhanced efficiency and major performance benefits. The company is now applying this new technology into strategic markets, namely electric/hybrid vehicles. The company has a multi-disciplined engineering team.
Job Title:Principal Systems Engineer
Key Objective: Lead the system-level specification, design, analysis and characterisation of electric and hybrid-electric vehicles based on Companies in-wheel motor technology.
Responsibilities:
•Produce detailed reference design specifications for deployment of company technology in electric and hybrid electric vehicles of various types
•Develop models and produce estimated performance data for different classes of vehicles based on company technology
•Define and oversee system-level testing on companies test vehicles
•Work with customers to assist with system-level design issues
•Produce market requirement specifications for enhancements to companies products from a system-level perspective based on feedback from customers, modelling and testing
Experience
•Minimum of 5 years experience electronics at a systems level
•Experience in system-level modelling techniques would be an advantage
•Automotive experience would be an advantage
•Experience with electric vehicles is very desirable
•CAN bus experience is very desirable
•Good degree in an appropriate scientific / engineering discipline is essential
Average salary: £50,000 plus benefits. plus will be provided with a company pension scheme, up to 33 days holiday, staff sport and social club and free on-site parking.
