My Client is seeking an experienced, technically strong and highly adaptable individual to take on a Principal Consultant role to advise on and lead a range of technically demanding projects with our team based in the East Midlands.
My Client is seeking an experienced, technically strong and highly adaptable individual to take on a Principal Consultant role to advise on and lead a range of technically demanding projects with our team based in the East Midlands.
The position requires an individual with exceptional breadth of thinking and engineering ability as well as enthusiasm to impart knowledge effectively, particularly in the area of general structural design assessment. You will be expected to offer guidance and lead decision making, providing stress and structural analysis solutions on a range of projects. The emphasis of your work will be on aircraft structures and/or gas turbines. You will be expected to take responsibility for developing the capability of less experienced staff as well as acting as a significant interface with the client to enhance my clients reputation for technical excellence.

Mandatory Requirements of the role
You will ideally be Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or possess suitable knowledge in-lieu of a degree. You will have significant knowledge in the design assessment of appropriate aircraft structures or mechanical power engineering applications.
Together with evidence of technical leadership, you will be required to demonstrate expertise in the design and assessment of one or more of the following:
Gas turbine Compressors and or Turbines
Aircraft structures stress assessment for flight clearance
You will also be expected to demonstrate the following attributes:
Professional in approach and performance
Strong communication skills
Commercial awareness
Team worker with the ability to effectively manage colleagues when appropriate.
The flexibility and desire to solve general mechanical engineering stress based design problems.
Desirable Requirements for the role
Ideally you will:
Hold, or have held, delegated signatory status.
Be trained in the use of computer numerical methods
Be Chartered through the IMechE or RAeS.
