Purpose of Position
The role is to work within one of the business areas of Mission Systems to undertake software activities on current programme or IR&D.
Principal Software Engineer
Purpose of Position
The role is to work within one of the business areas of Mission Systems to undertake software activities on current programme or IR&D.
As a Principal Software Engineer you would be responsible for the analysis of software requirements and the design/development of major subsystems, undertake testing of the software against the requirements
Responsibilities The key areas of responsibility are:
Management of major subsystem development
Analysis of software requirements
Software design, implementation and testing
Undertake all activities to cost and schedule
Team Leadership/Supervision
Education/Experience Qualifications
Honours Degree and/or relevant experience
Essential Experience
Team Leadership/Supervision
Understanding of UML
Solid programming experience in C/C++ and/or Ada
Understanding of full software lifecycle
Real Time Embedded development knowledge
Demonstrated Team Management of up to 10 Software Engineers
Desirable Experience
Embedded Avionic architectures
Real Time Operating systems and Microsoft OS Key Skills/Domain Knowledge
Experience in Military Avionics
Team Leadership/Management
Self motivated and able to work within a team
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good self and team organisational ability
