Principal Software Engineers


To carry out C++ Software Development activities for Multi-Function Display products under the technical guidance of the Team Leader.

Take technical ownership of key SW components

Produce software analysis, software design, C++ coding, software testing and documentation in line with the project requirements

Take technical ownership for all specifications and documentation relating to a given product/feature

Coordinate and conduct peer reviews of team tasks

Mentoring and supporting more junior SW engineers

Maintain strong departmental and inter-departmental communications

Keep in touch with the external environment - emerging technologies, technical innovations, changes in design practices and up to date tools

Competitor awareness - be aware who the main competitors are and be aware of the products/features they offer.

BSc/BEng in Electronic Engineering or similar discipline with at least a 2:1 honours
Good standard of A levels or equivalent
Technical Leadership experience of SW components / features
Strong experience in C++ design and development of embedded software components.
Strong experience in developing software complex multi-threaded object oriented real time systems through the complete software lifecycle

Multi-threaded programming/RTOS
Software development processes and tools
Good communication skills
