BRISTOL
Excellent opportunity for you to join this world-class supplier of innovative, high performance actuation systems and equipment for the aerospace and defence industry.
As Principal/Senior Systems Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the technical compliance of products through the negotiation of requirements, the generation of design and the management of the verification process. You will also be responsible for supporting proposals and submissions in order to provide an engineering input throughout the development phases of the project, across core markets as required.
In particular you will lead and undertake system responsibility for projects involving electronics, hydraulics, mechanical and software engineering to produce system designs of high performance and integrity. You will create sub-system design specifications and interface specifications which decompose the customers requirements from the system level specification. You will manage requirements, compliance and reporting using the deployed requirements management tool, i.e. DOORS. You will ensure that all designs satisfy the relevant Contract Specifications. Where appropriate, you will create stand-alone specifications for sub-contracts which reflect the customer's and HS-CL's requirements. If requested to do so by the Project Engineer, you will provide and maintain costing data in support of a project. You will check documents and detail from junior engineers, including sub-assembly, general assembly and installation drawings. You will supervise junior staff and guide the work of support staff to ensure the production of accurate, high-quality work and you will control the associated timescales and costs of their activities. You will identify the potential for improvement and contribute to the development of the Engineering analysis facilities.
