PRINCIPAL SAFETY ASSESSOR

Job based in Cheshire

Our client is the leading providers of technical consulting, engineering services and programme and asset management to the nuclear industry. Their experience spans several decades in the UK as well as other countries such as Canada, South Africa and the former Soviet Union. The business has more than 2000 dedicated nuclear employees and therefore they have a unique understanding and capability across the lifecycle of complex nuclear asses specifically the building of nuclear projects, engineering support, decommissioning along with programme and project management.

Therefore due to their expanding workload they are urgently looking for a Principal Safety Assesor to join them in their Warrington office.

JOB PROFILE

You will be working as part of the Safety Team to develop and deliver cost effective consultancy and advice in the development of Safety Cases for major UK Licensees

Principally you will be required to act as a technical lead in the production and verification of Safety Case documentation in line with client requirements and methodologies and modern safety case standards and act as a source of advice for other members in the team in building safety arguments and developing Safety Cases for projects and tenders/proposals. You will also be involved in some project management of the Safety Team's consultancy projects and acting as the Technical Lead for Safety in larger company projects.

You will also be asked to liaise with clients and/or regulators to resolve technical issues associated with the development of Safety Arguments as well as supporting the Team Leader in building client relationships, identifying future opportunities and prospects and recommending solutions to clients.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A minimum of 10 years in safety case development along with experience of working for/with major UK Licensees and knowledge of the Safety Case methodologies of at least one major UK Licensee as well as sound and demonstrable understanding of modern safety case methodologies. Key areas of knowledge required are: 1.Radiological Safety Analysis
2. Probabilistic / Deterministic Risk Analysis
3. Hazard identification / Hazop
4. Plant modifications
5. Safety Case Management

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Degree qualified in science, engineering or maths

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
MSC/PhD in disciplines such as Safety, Reliability or Risk
