Description
Principal Naval Architect - An opportunity to join the Naval Architecture team of this leading defence player working on a range of design, analysis and qualification activities, working on both surface ships and submarines.
The role will be based in Cumbria and is commutable from Millom, Broughton-in-Furness, Ulverston, Grange-o-Sands.
The work covers the full design and construction cycle, from initial concept design through construction support to entry into service.
This includes:
Submarine hydrostatic & stability qualification (Paramarine model maintenance, weight control, Trim & Incline experiments). Structural and hydrostatic safety of ships and submarines during Construction, launch and commissioning. Concept design and development of future ships and submarines.
The successful candidate will have a good degree in Naval Architecture or a related discipline, and will ideally be a Chartered Engineer.
