Department Description
The successful candidate will operate in a small but thriving M&E team serving many and varied market sectors and clients, both internally and externally. The team operates as part of the far-flung but very well integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Energy skillgroup which is currently home to 140+ employees. Recent major projects, the type of which the successful candidate would be expected to contribute to in a supervisory or managerial capacity, include a 40 million re-build and extension to a major wastewater treatment works in the North of England, a major 13 million extension to a key water treatment plant in Yorkshire and a 10 million upgrade to a major flood alleviation pumping station. The successful candidate would normally be given the opportunity to provide project management or package management inputs on smaller schemes as well as undertake outline and detailed design supervision activities. Detailed design inputs will be required on more complex schemes.
Key Objectives
The principal function of this position is to provide mechanical engineering and managerial support to the Water & Power business group and other business groups as required.
Key Responsibilities
The priorities of this role include:
the management and leadership of outline and detailed designs for mechanical installations (pumping stations, sewage and water treatment plant, flood defences)
management and directorship of a range of commissions for design, supervision and contract administration services
managing and overseeing the production of GAs, FDSs, tender documents and specifications, feasibility studies, and asset condition surveys, all associated with the Water, Power and Nuclear markets
