Description

To manage and work within multi-disciplinary teams on major development projects, applying your mechanical engineering abilities to create innovative designs and implement sophisticated technologies into new products.

You will be taking a lead role in planning, proposal generation, liaison with clients, management of a multidisciplinary teams and hands-on product development.

Your responsibilities will include:
Using your strong technical skills to make a significant contribution to development projects
Working alongside design engineers to develop system requirements including liaison across other engineering disciplines
In depth analysis of system elements using a range of analytical tools
Responsibility for the growth and development of thermo-fluidic expertise and capabilities within the division
Working closely with engineers and technicians to implement design solutions
Writing technical reports and producing high quality design documentation
Management of client relationships
Mentoring and training of junior staff
To meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an excellent first degree in mechanical engineering and you will have a good grasp of both the mechanical and electronic disciplines.

Minimum requirements
You should have several years of industrial experience in product development, with a proven ability to manage a team of engineers and technicians. There should be evidence of excellence within the work you have been responsible for. You will have a creative approach to problem solving and concept generation, an appreciation of the use of engineering analysis in product development and have had hands-on experience of 3D CAD, rapid prototyping, CFD and some FEA.

Direct experience of product development in the consumer product or automotive industries would be beneficial, including knowledge of high volume manufacturing processes and electromechanical technology.

Experience of any of the following is necessary:
- Fluent or other CFD package
- CAD (Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks)

Experience of any of the following is beneficial:
- ANSYS/ABAQUS or other FEA package
- LabView or dSPACE
- Matlab
- Simulink
- Flowmaster
