This leading car manufacturer based in Norfolk is now looking to recruit Principal Engineers Chassis System Design for their engineering centre in Norwich. The Principal Engineer will support an Executive engineer or those engineers in a release engineer role to deliver technical solutions to project teams within required cost, quality and time targets. At this level you would be expected to accept design ownership of individual systems and operate with a high level of autonomy.
Successful candidates will be educated to HNC level in a relevant engineering discipline. Ideally candidates will come from an automotive background, but could also come from another transport or aerospace industry. You will require extensive CAD experience and some local task management experience. Some short and long haul travel may be required in order to support project needs. Work outside of core hours may also be necessary on an occasional basis.

This leading car manufacturer based in Norfolk is now looking to recruit Principal Engineers Chassis System Design for their engineering centre in Norwich. The Principal Engineer will support an Executive engineer or those engineers in a release engineer role to deliver technical solutions to project teams within required cost, quality and time targets. Your key responsibilities will include the design ownership of a vehicle sub system/ support of vehicle subsystems or components within a project. You will provide support for BOM including weight information and concept and detailed engineering design utilising internal departments and suppliers as appropriate. You will create CAD models, component drawings, assembly drawings, exploded views, installation drawings and data packs including DVPs and FMEAs to support project requirements in accordance with quality acceptance standards. You will also provide support to fit and function evaluation of subsystem components and to performance testing of subsystem components. You will be collating test results and concern reports and also support assembly line and build concern resolution. You will provide support to the generation of planning and proposal information if required and also to the department in achieving the requirements of quality systems approval both internal and external.
