An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Engineer to join a world leading provider of technology, product innovation, engineering solutions and strategic consulting to the worlds automotive industries.
As Principal Engineer you will to oversee delivery of advanced technology projects. Projects early stage technology and product development, and can cover a wide range of technical and market areas, for example
•Hybrid vehicles
•Novel engines
•New energy
•Energy storage
•Technical market studies
•Collaborative research programs, including governmental supporting programs and University partners
The successful applicant will be responsible for technical and commercial delivery of projects of varied durations with varied team sizes. Teams will typically cover a wide range of disciplines including design, CAE, control and electronics, development and validation, and will typically be working closely with client engineering teams.
The role will involve working closely with our clients Technology Product Group, to identify new technologies and markets, win new business and deliver projects to high standards of customer satisfaction and profitability. This will include developing selling propositions and proposals.
You should have a strong ability to work independently, to demonstrative initiative and to present technical results and reasoned arguments. A highly competent self starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will also have sound engineering abilities across a broad range of disciplines (strong mechanical and electrical experience is desirable), and a willingness to explore new technologies
You should have knowledge of developing propositions, creating proposals and dealing directly with customers with confidence and competence, as well as developing structured solutions to ambiguous problems. A proven ability to manage technical teams would be a distinct advantage.
