Principal Digital Engineer to work for this leading developer of advanced radio and satellite communications solutions - for commercial, government and defence applications. The role is to lead digital development on communications and Electronic Warfare projects and programmes.

Principal Digital Engineer to work for this leading developer of advanced radio and satellite communications solutions - for commercial, government and defence applications. The role is to lead digital development on communications and Electronic Warfare projects and programmes.
Main duties of this position include: Requirements analysis & specification writing for digital systems. Algorithm design & implementation for communication and/or EW systems. Architectural design & documentation of digital systems. Support the demonstration, deployment and maintenance of such systems. To act as technical responsibility for all or part of a project, mentoring junior engineers and contribute to the planning and estimation of project schedules, as well as quality processes.
You will be degree qualified in electronics/physics/engineering related subject with proven relevant experience and a broad range of design and development skills. Including DSP and FPGA based design, embedded design in telecommunications or EW systems. The ability to read and understand specifications and protocols. Understanding and appreciation of VHDL
Highly Desirable: Appreciation & experience of DSP techniques; Analogue, Digital & Mixed Signal design techniques. Experience of RF circuits, Software design and the ability to multi-task across several projects. Knowledge & practical experience of project management lifecycle, and an experienced team leader
The Principal Digital Engineer must hav the enthusiasm & flexibility necessary to work on a broad range of projects of varying size and complexity, within a dynamic company. The interpersonal skills required to effectively work with internal and external customers at all levels.
