Description

Job purpose:

1. Responsible for the commercial management of designated contracts and sub-contracts within the Combat Systems,
Change Proposals to extant work including the Prime Contracts.
2. Ensure that sub-contract issues that impact on Prime Contracts are managed.
3. Manage/support business development opportunities as designated.
4. Co-ordinate/support Phase Review and Tender Vet actions as per Life Cycle Management processes.
5. Provide appropriate support to sub-contract management teams.
6. Manage or support other designated tasks as appropriate.

2. Good analytical and problem solving qualities, attention to detail and a questioning mind.
3. Confident and pro-active within a team environment.

Qualifications

1. Graduate in Engineering or Commercial/Business related subjects preferred but not essential.
2. As alternative - CIPS or HNC Business Studies preferred (or on extant course).

Experience

1. Procurement/Commercial experience in defence or similar industry
2. Experience in the management/support or RFQs and Tendering experience.
3. Experience in supporting negotiation and award of major sub-contracts.
4. Understanding of MOD organisation and processes preferred but not essential
5. Good understanding of project and risk management processes.
