Principal Commercial Officer required for this leading defence organisation based in Hampshire, commutable from Guildford, Basingstoke, Camberley & Haslemere.
The role is to be responsible for the commercial management of designated contracts and sub-contracts within the Combat Systems, Change Proposals to extant work including the Prime Contracts. Ensure that sub-contract issues that impact on Prime Contracts are managed. Manage/support business development opportunities as designated. Co-ordinate/support Phase Review and Tender Vet actions as per Life Cycle Management processes. Provide appropriate support to sub-contract management teams. Manage or support other designated tasks as appropriate.

The Principal Commercial Officer will be a Graduate in Engineering or Commercial/Business related subjects preferred but not essential - alternatively CIPS or HNC Business Studies preferred (or on extant course). You will have Procurement/Commercial experience in Defence or similar industry. Experience in the management/support or RFQs and Tendering experience. Experience in supporting negotiation and award of major sub-contracts. An understanding of MOD organisation and processes would be preferred but not essential. A good understanding of project and risk management processes.
This person will need good interpersonal skills and be confident and proactive within a team environment. Good analytical and problem solving qualities, attention to detail and a questioning mind.
