Presales Support Engineer
The successful candidate will:
Be able to capture the Customer requirements.
Be able to prepare a Bid document that includes the Customer requirement, the outline proposal, and the outline costs with a supporting programme plan with all risks identified.
Have sound written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels with-in an organisation.
Enjoy working as part of a Team and enjoy some travel in the UK, EU and worldwide.
Presales Support Engineer
To have two or more of the following. Good working knowledge of principles and design of:
1. IP Networks and Data Protocols to include OSPF, BGP, SIP, VoIP and packetised Voice, Diffserv, ATM, MPLS, IP Addressing, HDLC, Ethernet, QoS, OSI, RFCs and the IETF. To have an understanding of the engineering design constraints of Data Networks over satellite
2. Voice Networks and Network Protocols to include Numbering Plans and Digit Manipulation, PABX Networks, DPNSS, Q_Sig, GSM, PSTN, Echo Cancellation, DDI and Voice equipments including the design and deployment of a Voice Network
3. Management Systems to include eTOM, TMN, Management/Agent Architectures, API, SNMPv3 and Network Management products to include MaxView, Netcool Impact Proviso and Precision, MDM (Preside) and HP Openview
4. Security to include Infosec 4 and it s application, CESG, Common Criteria, Cryptography & EAL, the design of Secure Systems and it s assurance with an accreditor
5. Terminal equipments and modems to include CDMA, FDMA, Spread spectrum DVB-RCS, DVB-S2 and iDirect (Knowledge of the preparation of link budgets is desirable but not essential)
In their chosen specialities it is expected that the successful candidate is able to prove competency but relating a real scenario where they were extensively involved in the project life cycle.

Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Demonstrate the core competencies as outlined above in written and oral test
Desirable: A Business or associated Engineering degree
Previous Experience
Essential: Proven experience of Telecoms with two years in a design role and two years in a Presales role
