An international OEM seeks an engineer with Powertrain test experience to aid in the development of a brand new Powertrain test facility in China.
Job Specification:
Perform a range of tasks including:-
> Specifying the engine test facility, including dyno, control systems, air handling & cooling on a green field site
> Ensure that total project costs are controlled within budget.
> Outline & implement the maintenance of test facilities and provide guidance on mechanical aspects of the test facilities.
> Specify a calibration system to ensure that test facilities within the department meet with the requirements of international standards (ISO 9001 etc.)
> Maintain drawing and information library relating to facility installations and equipment.
> Provide in-house design service for test bed hardware and its manufacture.
> Full commissioning plan
> Delivery of world class engine test facility
> Derive & own the project plan
> Part technical transfer to Chinese counterparts
Person specification:
> Should have detailed knowledge and understanding of modern engine test facilities and have extensive knowledge of Petrol / Diesel engines.
> Will ideally be qualified in project management or have extensive experience, in an engineering environment. Will possess good man management skills.
> Will have experience relating to maintenance of test facilities using in-house and external suppliers (AVL, A&D, DSG, Horiba etc) to ensure that facilities operate safely and efficiently, ensuring that breakdowns are kept to a minimum.
> Will be familiar with systems to record Calibration of all the test instrumentation and workshop measuring equipment.
> Will be familiar with all relevant statutory legislation and be responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted to comply with such.
Experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have extensive experience in the Power-train testing and testing facilities field.
