Our Client is a leading Clinical Waste Management Organisation, who provide waste to energy and waste disposal services to a range of Clients at numerous locations throughout the UK. They currently have a vacancy for a Plant Manager at their HDU (Heat Destructive Unit) Plant in Mid Glamorgan.
Our Client is a leading Clinical Waste Management Organisation, who provide waste to energy and waste disposal services to a range of Clients at numerous locations throughout the UK. They currently have a vacancy for a Plant Manager at their HDU (Heat Destructive Unit) Plant in Mid Glamorgan. Reporting directly to and deputising for the General Manager, the Plant Manager will be required to manage day to day operations at the plant and supervise site personnel to ensure that Plant Operation is maintained at high utilisation at all times. Candidates will have a proven engineering background plus experience in a supervisory role. Call out duty is included as and when required.
Main Tasks and Accountabilities:
•Day to day supervisory management of site personnel
•Co-ordination of PPE on site
•Maintain continuity of operations in line with license and H & S requirements
•Manage and prioritise operational spending in line with budgets
•Manage plant administration
•Assist with the recruitment and discipline of staff
•Organise staff training and occupational health checks
•Organise the plant scheduled maintenance in conjunction with the General Manager
•Organise and supervise contractors
•Maximise utilisation especially during planned and unplanned maintenance
•Plan and implement plant improvements in conjunction with the General Manager
•Authorised signatory for the business within authorised limits
•Compile and authorise Risk assessments
•To respond to call outs in a timely manner
Personal Competencies:
•Significant Engineering experience and/or formal Engineering qualification
•Technical expertise with the capability of undertaking running repairs to plant and equipment.
•Fabrication and Welding expertise.
•People Management skills with the ability to supervise and direct site personnel
•Well developed customer service, communications and interpersonal skills
•Process plant experience would be an advantage
•Ability to work within a demanding and compliant environment
•A can-do attitude and work with little administrative support.
•Energy, decisiveness with drive and determination
•An understanding of plant related legislation
•Computer literacy - Experience of technologically advanced plants/system
