Plant Manager - Merseyside

To work for a global leader in the provision of food, agricultural and risk management products and services.
They have an exciting technical leadership opportunity, ensuring the optimum performance, safety, maintenance and development of our crush and refining processing plants. This is a pivotal, key role, providing team and technical leadership, innovation and operations management in an organization providing unrivaled Global career and personal development opportunities.

Specific responsibilities include:
Monitor general operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
Actively participate in the quality improvement process and apply the principles of continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
Provide a safe working environment through safety training, sound house-keeping practice and sustain mechanically safe machinery conforming to standards.
Make an annual plan for the plant, set goals and priorities. Responsible for the keeping of balanced scorecards, and to set standards and goals based on the BU business plan. Communicate results with employees.
Plan and install capital improvements as required from time to time.

Successful candidates will combine a commercial mind set with a hands-on approach to technical leadership of plant operations. In addition to excellent communications and management skills, candidates will combine a science or engineering degree, ideally chartered status, with C. 6 years progressive industrial processing experience. A further business qualification is also desirable but not essential.
