Description

Maintenance Engineer / Shift Supervisor urgently required to assist in the efficient running of Plant, by completing planned and breakdown maintenance repairs of process machinery. You will be responsible for Plant Operatives on shift plus the supervision of contractors / visitors on site. Candidates should be qualified hands-on engineers with either Electrical or Mechanical bias (or Multi-skilled). This is a shift position including blocks of nights.

Summary of Requirements and Tasks:

•To provide repair, maintenance, fault finding and overhaul of Plant machinery as required
•To work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Fitters to ensure maximum plant availability at all times
•To log all maintenance activities onto computer system
•To ensure that maintenance tasks are carried out with the minimum of productivity interruption
•To closely monitor the safe running of the plant, and to react to any concerns, and concerns reported by Technicians and Operatives
•To compile risk assessments as required
•To issue permits to work as required to other colleagues and to external contractors and visitors

The Person

•Qualified with min City & Guilds in Engineering discipline, preferably to include 16th Edition if Electrically biased.
•Experienced with the repair and maintenance of Pneumatics / Hydraulics
•Experience with PLC based automated machinery advantageous
•Experience with compiling risk assessments, issuing permits to work and monitoring stock levels for audit purpose advantageous
•Enthusiastic, determined, hands-on maintenance engineer with strong desire to learn, progress, and achieve set targets
•Works well on own initiative but also as part of a team
•Able to lead teams and supervise
•Flexibility regarding working hours and able to work shift changes to cover absence
