Description

Our client manufacturers complex high precision cast/machined airfoils fitted to gas turbines used in power generation and aircraft propulsion. They have the immediate requirement for a Planning Manager, to manage their Planning Team, incorporating MRP Control, Production Control Scheduling, Inventory Control, Manpower Capacity Planning, Material Control and Supply Chain Processes. Salary c£40k per annum plus benefits to include quarterly cash bonus.

Role

Responsible for the Production Control Scheduling Process including Inventory Control and Manpower Capacity Planning.
Responsible for creating an achievable production plan which satisfies both Company and Customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the Planning Team and ensure the MRP Controllers have clearly defined objectives.
Develop and implement a production plan which reflects operational capacity and customer requirements.
Ensure the production plan is regularly monitored and achieved.
Ensure that inventory targets are achieved
Communicate accurate requirements throughout the supply chain including subcontract and external supply
Develop and maintain key performance indicators
Support and provide adequate input to Sales and Operational Planning Meetings
Manage the successful implementation of the new MRP based planning system

The Person

Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
Good Knowledge and understanding of Production/Material Control and Supply Chain Processes, techniques and systems
Good team player with the ability to work closely with colleagues and other departments at all levels
Excellent communicator with ability to create relationships both internally and with customers and the supply network
Self motivated problem solver, flexible and possessing the ability to motivate others.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office. Experience of SAP is preferable.
Good knowledge of lean manufacturing with the ability to work to tight deadlines with a can do mentality.
