Main Duties of the Position
Develop a Supply Chain Planning and Logistics strategy aimed at maximising customer service and stock turns.
To develop robust processes and procedures for Goods Inwards, Inventory Storage, Materials Issues, Work In Progress, Finished Goods and Despatch.
Continually improve Supply Chain Planning and Logistics processes through introduction of lean methodologies such as JIT, Kanban, VMI, DLF, etc.
Planning & Logistics Manager for a leading Military & Defence Communications equipment manufacturer. You will play a pivotal role in the continued growth & development of the business, strategically managing the Stores, dispatch & material planning team
Planning & Logistics Manager
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing you will have complete control and responsibility for the Planning, Stores & Dispatch Teams. This roles requires an experienced Supply Chain manager with Good MRP / ERP experience with a strong ability to strategically plan & implement improvement practices. Ideally from an ElectroMechanical background or similar with good people management skills, and a dynamic, motivated attitude to lean manufacturing and change management.

Primary Purpose of the Position
To develop and implement a strategy for Supply Planning, Inventory and Logistics Management that supports the strategic plans of the Manufacturing and the Business. Introduce and continually improve processes to establish and maintain accurate materials and capacity plans, and to ensure inventory is accurately maintained at the point of use.
Secondary Purpose of the Position
To be responsible for the leadership of the Planning & Logistics department ensuring capability through training, establishing objectives, and monitoring performance.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
Demonstrable leadership and management skills
Relevant Supply Chain Planning and Logistics management experience in an electro-mechanical or similar manufacturing environment
Excellent knowledge of modern planning tools including S&OP, MPS, RCCP, MRP & CRP
Previous demonstrable success at introducing world class supply chain solutions through the use of lean techniques, such as JIT
Experience of ERP systems implementation and development
Project management experience
Desirable:
Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related subject
Defence industry experience
Experience of Sage Line 500
Special Features:
Must possess a full UK driving licence
Occasional international travel may be required
