Description

The definition, design and specification of the Galileo Navigation Payload and RF and baseband sub-systems. Analysis and simulation of both digital and RF subsystems.
Maintenance of payload RF system budgets, analysis of system impact of equipment performance and payload requirements change. Coordination of technical engineering activities performed at payload sub-system level. Interface with mechanical/thermal, PA, platform and verification engineering teams.

Payload Systems Engineer

The definition, design and specification of the Galileo Navigation Payload and RF and baseband sub-systems. Analysis and simulation of both digital and RF subsystems.
Maintenance of payload RF system budgets, analysis of system impact of equipment performance and payload requirements change. Coordination of technical engineering activities performed at payload sub-system level. Interface with mechanical/thermal, PA, platform and verification engineering teams. Self-motivated team player with the ability to influence a multinational spacecraft and system design team.

Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: BSc (2.2) or higher, self-motivated, excellent presentation skills, potential team/project leader
Desirable: satellite RF payload system and/or payload RF product design,

Previous Experience
Essential: knowledge of digital, analogue & spread spectrum communications, payload system design, analysis and implementation; payload system, sub-system and equipment specification writing, requirements management
Desirable: knowledge of satellite navigation system design, GPS/Glonass receiver design principles

Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
