Engineer and Senior Engineer level staff required (2 + years exp) for busy discipline office providing pavement and material solutions to highways, ports and airports.
Senior Pavement Engineer
Senior Pavement Engineer required for the Professional Services Division of a major market leading multi-disciplinary consultancy
our client is a leading provider of highway infrastructure design and management. Within this framework they are developing and expanding a Pavement Division providing a blend of innovative consultancy skills and contractor approach to integrated pavement and materials in highways engineering.
The primary purpose of this role is to drive forward with design of all major projects currently undertaken and to promote the business to internal and external customers; the portfolio of work to be worked is a good mix of public and private commissions offering variety and solid experience. You will be enthusiastic about pavements and materials and will be willing and able to apply your skills to highways, aviation and ports work.
Key responsibilities:
• To deliver the detailed design of the surfacing aspects of highways schemes and provide pavements advice for other disciplines and maintenance activities to deliver the outcomes agreed to programmes and budgets
• To provide Professional and Technical Excellence in pavement/materials engineering.
• To report assess and report all current projects and to ensure innovation in developing this busy division
• To understand the condition of pavement assets and identify areas where improvement is required
• To allocate tasks to other members of the Pavement Teams and report to the Pavement Team Leader on staff and resource issues
• To manage projects within the Pavements Team from external and internal clients
The successful candidate will have relevant vocational qualifications, membership of an appropriate professional institution, will be registered with the Engineering Council to at least CEng level. They will be competent in Pavement Engineering with detailed knowledge of relevant design codes and knowledge of the use of computer design tools. They will have appropriate recent experience in Pavement Engineering, leading small design teams and of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
