An Outage Planning Engineer is required to be based at a Coal Fired Power Station in Kent, co-ordinating Outages / Major Maintenance work. You will be an experienced Engineer, who has worked extensively on Power Stations or in Facilities Management positions. You will develop detailed Maintenance plans and programmes for site outages ranging from 2 days to 3 months in duration.
The role requires someone to Project Manage Outages, Shutdowns and Major Maintenance work. You will develop and deliver Site Engineering programmes, and schedule Engineers and resources accordingly. You will monitor and report on the progress of Outages, based in programme v actual v forecast, and you will need to apply management instruction, safety rules and statutory regulations to the programmes you put in place. Putting spending plans, strategy and control in place, you will determine resource requirements and control resources through daily coordination of work.
Fully utilising the SAP CMMS system, you will manage the Plant Maintenance master data and develop Maintenance Strategy plans. You should understand SAP Maintenance Management tools and be able to anticipate and quantify risk and opportunity. You may need to act decisively to mitigate risk.
In summary, you should have appropriate Engineering qualifications, excellent project management experience, and an extensive understanding of Power Station of Facilities Management Operations.
