Optics Technician required to work for a satellite manufacturing company based in Kent.
We are looking for candidates with previous experience in the assembly and test of optical equipment for a satellite company based in Sevenoaks in Kent.
The position will involve assembly and test of camera systems for satellite applications and assembly and operation of laboratory test equipment for such instruments.
Key Tasks
> Assembly of optical instrumentation in clean conditions and with a high level of quality control.
>Test of the optical instrumentation as described above.
>Implementation and maintenance of test equipment for the above tasks.
>Preparation of assembly history logs and test reports.
> Detailed design of test equipment under supervision of an optical designer.
Experience
> Assembly and test experience gained within a technical industry.
> Experience of quality control procedures and in record keeping.
> Previous experience in optical instrumentation would be a strong advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
> Mechanical assembly.
> Familiarity with optical test equipment e.g. interferometers, radiometers.
> Use of automated equipment e.g. motion stages, co-ordinate measuring machines.
