Description

Operations Engineer

Role
To provide operations support and guidance to the offshore team and maintain and analyse essential production records

Responsibilities
• Monitors and analyses overall production performance (including PON compliance)
• Maintains root cause data records
• Highlights bottlenecks/weakness. Search for cost effective improvements
• Produces monthly production performance report
• Provides Production Operations input to Production related investigates/ change proposals
• Provides raw data, estimates (firecats0 for the letting or maintaining of production support/ supply contracts
• Maintains the suit of Production Operations Procedures and handles any requests/ instructions for change
• Provides operations support for CDCA production Capability or Competencies issues
• Works the production programming interface with Client department with particular regard to weak performance measurement, well potentials. Advised rates and requirements for well tests or investigations
• Issue monthly plan for operating wells
• Produces the monthly production forecast based upon well deferral work, plant capability/equipment availability and deferral related activities on the 90 day plan
• Provides onshore production support to the offshore team
• Organised scope/travel and induction for specialist visitors to the platform
• Performs emergency response duties for the production function
• To control the authorisation of operating standards deviations

Qualifications
• Technical Apprenticeship of process operators training scheme
• Scientific Qualifications with production operations experience

Essential Experience
• Has comprehensive exposure as a Supervisor of operations teams, directing effort in an environment where there are conflicting demands for priority action.
• Excellent knowledge through working with hydrocarbon production systems
• Gas processing knowledge and operating experience
• Knowledge of mechanical, process instrumentation, and electrical systems
• Good knowledge of fire and gas detection and ESD systems operation
• Fully familiar with the permit to work system and other safety procedures
• Awareness of hydrocarbon production hazards
• Good knowledge of business objectives and budgetary management
• Competent in the techniques of production programming and oil accounting
• Sound understanding of reservoir management issues and well performance

Desirable:
• Has experience in work involved with specifying, evaluating and letting of contracts
• Has experience working in a Project team environment
• Familiar with Document control
• Sound understanding of the UK legislative regime
