Description

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to join a leading, international manufacturer at their Belfast facility.

Assisting the Quality Manager in implementing and maintaining effective quality assurance and quality control systems, duties will include;
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Assist the Quality Manager to direct the Quality Assurance program
•Compile/review technical & performance specifications including the introduction of control plans, quality standards & inspection procedures
•In conjunction with Engineering/Design implement and control PFMEAs
•Review in conjunction with Internal Sales Department all Quality Plans and process specifications to ensure all work is carried out to compliance
•Review receiving inspections of materials, supplies & equipment
•Review certificates of compliance or test reports to determine validity
•Analyse quality related data & write evaluation reports
•Investigate & record complaints of non-conforming items
•Ensure that all responsible departments are informed of all non-conformances, errors are rectified & not repeated
•Use SPC and other tools to monitor and improve production processes ensuring cp and cpk results are displayed
•Conduct Gauge R+R on related process capability studies
•Leading operations in quality initiatives
•Leading supplier/sub contractor quality improvements
•Ensure compliance with ISO 9000-2000, PED & other quality standards
•Work closely with third party inspection authorities to ensure all relevant inspections are carried out on time and in line with contract requirements
•Ensure all auditing & calibration procedures for equipment are in line with procedure
•Lead the Internal Quality Audit process & ensure compliance
•Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and work effectively with Operations Department to provide a quality service to customers
•Carrying out all duties within health & safety guidelines and to a good standard of housekeeping
•To participate in Kaizen events by sharing his/her knowledge and experience with those involved

Applicants will posses a 3rd level qualification (e.g. mechanical or manufacturing engineering), plus a minimum of 2 years relevant practical Q.A./inspection experience in an engineering environment providing Quality Engineering type support leading to improvements by applying lean tools such as PQPR.

You will also be able to demonstrate;
•Knowledge and experience of working to ISO: 9001 2000
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to interact effectively and partner with people at all levels; extremely skilled at developing and working with and through teams; a collaborative team player
•Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions.
•Experience gained in working with third party inspection authorities
•Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
•Must be computer literate (MS Office, MRP / ERP).
