Operational Analyst Consultant

Description

An operational analyst with a broad range of experience in defence analysis techniques, including Whole Life Costing in support of MoD Investment Appraisals and Business Cases. The successful applicant will work with a number of projects providing advice and practical support on analysis covering all defence lines of development.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of Analysis plans for projects suited to the needs, resources and timescales of the project and its customers.
- Conduct Analysis in support of project objectives
- Contribute to the selection, development and use of analysis methods, tools and techniques.
- Reporting of Analysis results using written reports and presentations.

Essential skills required for this role are:
- Broad knowledge of Operational Analysis methods, tools and techniques
- Broad knowledge of Investment Analysis and Whole Life Costing methods, tools and techniques
- Understanding of Operational Analysis and Investment Appraisal requirements for COEIAs and MoD Business Case.
- Spreadsheet-based cost modelling
- Understanding of the DPAs CADMID cycle, Smart Acquisition processes
- Liaison and ability to communicate effectively at meetings with customer

Desirable skills include:
- A good knowledge of military domains.
- Understanding of MODs Defence Lines of Development and Through Life Capability Management process.
- Project Management of Defence Analysis projects

Personal attributes:
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentational skills
- Self motivated individual able to work alone or as part of team
- Flexible attitude and ability to quickly respond to changing situations
- Educated as a minimum to either Degree or equivalent level
- At least 5 years experience in Defence Analysis
