A leading Wind Farm Developer / Operator require an Engineer with a Marine background, who can oversee Assets for Offshore Wind Farms in the South of England. This is an exciting role as a number of new Wind Farms will become operational during 2009, and you will be involved in commissioning, planning and development of Operational strategy. Please note that this is NOT a Maintenance / Repair role.
On a typical Wind Farm there are a number of large Assets which are key to smooth operations. These include a Helicopter, Heavy Lift Vessels, and Workboats. All may be required to ensure the upkeep of Wind Turbines, and for Maintenance and Repair activity. Your role will be to develop Operating Strategies for Wind Farms, Pre Operations planning and management of existing Assets. You will assist the Offshore Operations Manager in implementing and managing subcontracted works and tracking asset performance and condition.
Initially you will be heavily involved in the design of a large windfarm on the South Coast. You will ideally understand Construction, as the site is being built at present, with handover due late in 2009. You will identify weaknesses and risks, mitigate through effective planning, and technically evaluate all Marine equipment such as the workboats and heavy lift vessels. Providing high level support on structure design and maintenance, you will build and document offshore operations and manage Marine related improvement projects.
You will ideally have appropriate Marine or Engineering Qualifications and have Project Management experience. It is important that you have good IT skills, and can write reports / operational procedures.
Role based in Guildford, but could potentially be situated in Lowestoft if you had a strong preference for the location. Paying c£30-40k + a superb benefits package which includes a Bonus Scheme, Annual Pay Review, Non-Contributory Pension (10% from company), HealthCare, Share Incentives and subsidised transport.
