ORACLE SPECIALISTS (10g) required to join major government programme based in Middlesex.
I am currently inviting applications from Oracle specialists to work for a major government programme based in Middlesex. Candidates will be responsible for providing expert knowledge of Oracle 10g to effectively design and develop database systems solutions.
Candidates should be of degree calibre with extensive knowledge of database design and development using Oracle 10g. They should possess a good understanding of database management technologies and database design methods. Full design and development lifecycle skills are essential as candidates will be required to design, develop, test and implement database systems solutions.
The main responsibilities for this position are:
Applying senior technical expertise in designing, developing and implementing all databases and data structures and providing group leadership and technical direction, consultation, and instruction to the application developers to ensure the benefits of database technology are achieved.
Providing senior level expertise in the design, development and implementation of technology solutions researching, evaluating and selecting hardware and software tools and their impact on the various applications.
Providing leadership, planning and analysis expertise in technology uses for managing information and relationships to databases, operational systems and providing training to systems staff in best practices for data and database structures and design. Reviewing proposals from subordinates and peers for feasibility, quality and effectiveness.
Establishing and maintaining the methods, techniques, guidelines and monitoring practices for the design and development of database systems, to minimize operational costs, to ensure service levels are maintained with customers and to comply with company policy and standards.
Performance Tuning (Wait-event Methodology), RAC, Partitioning, Physical Modelling/Architecture, OLS, Data Guard, ASM, or ETL development.
The provision of high availability IS/IT systems.
