Our client is the market leader for digital pay TV solutions and the technologies they develop secure the delivery of entertainment and information to TVs, Set Top Boxes, personal computers and mobile devices.

Main Duties of C++ development role
The role involves the continuing development (C++ environment) of existing Server side system components with enhancements and new functionality across the products. This is a full SDLC role where you will have responsibility for analysis, design and implementation of advanced content delivery technologies. The function will require you to take ownership of products and functionality, working across a team with an individual project focus and driving the development. Projects vary from a week to 6 months and will typically be part of larger delivery programmes and are close to the client interface.

Mandatory skills and experience
Candidates will have commercial experience of object-oriented design and development of complex applications (preferably server side) in a team environment. An innate ability in development is far more important than specific experience but C, C++ or Java etc would be preferred.
Our client is more concerned with an ability to pick up new technologies rather than past experience, although knowledge of development languages such as C, C++ or Java would be beneficial.
Candidates should preferably be educated to degree level in Computer Science or a related discipline, or to an equivalent level of relevant technical or industrial achievement.

Desirable skills and experience
Understanding of server side concepts and technologies
Development on UNIX platforms (especially HPUX, Solaris, Linux)
Relational database concepts and terminology.
Awareness of technologies used within the digital broadcast industry.

Personal Profile

Candidates must be able to present strong evidence of significant technical competence and good interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
