Mission Analyst
To carry out detailed mission analysis and design activities, for Earth Observation, Navigation and Science applications.
Principle Responsibilities
Design and analysis of end to end interplanetary missions, including transfers and planetary orbit insertion
Design and analysis of Earth orbiting missions, including orbit maintenance aspects
Mathematical modelling and analysis of orbital dynamics effects and orbital perturbations
Computer simulation of orbital transfers and operational orbit environments
Participating in ESA studies and projects on ENS missions
Development of current and new mission analysis and design tools
Also may support GNC engineering activities using simulation/Matlab skills
Working in multi-national project teams

The position is that of a specialist in the field of mission analysis and design.
The work is of a focussed, technical nature demanding mathematical and computer simulation skills, together with a knowledge of orbital dynamics.
The successful candidate will be working with leading mission analysis and design techniques on the next generation of ESA s Earth Observation, Navigation and Science missions. This will include both preliminary feasibility studies through to detailed mission design aspects for future satellite projects.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential:PhD in related subject or related industrial experience + Knowledge of interplanetary mission analysis techniques
Desirable: Skills in Matlab/Simulation/Control engineering
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
