Job Description
Various positions at different levels. The Field Support Engineers will be working on Military Communication Systems, responsible for Systems Diagnosis, recording and applying any corrective actions necessary to restore full functionality to the Military Communications Systems Platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-The Inspection, Testing, Reporting and Certification of Communication systems installed on military armoured platforms.
-The production, assessment and delivery of engineering reports produced against work conducted.
-Ensuring that the tests conducted and any necessary diagnostics and corrective actions are conducted in accordance with current approved processes and procedures.
-Ensuring the security at all times of equipment, including cryptographic material, in his charge.
-Ensuring Quality Assurance inspections are carried out and that all work is completed in accordance with the provided schedule and to the appropriate documented standard.
-Ensuring a closed loop process is maintained and that all appropriate documentation is maintained.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
-Practical experience in testing of electronics/telecommunications systems or an alternative Engineering Discipline
-Proven experience working with military armoured platforms, ideally delivering an engineering service
-Experienced in the use of hand and power tools.
-Knowledge of health and safety at work legislation and practices.
-Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a member of a small team in a detached environment.
-Hold, or be capable of holding, security clearance to the level of SC.
-Able to understand written instructions and engineering drawings.
-IT literate (at least to ECDL level).
-Be willing to travel and spend extended periods of time away from home at short notice.
