Role summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in all aspects of heat treatment in a small-batch, multi-process heat treatment department. Initially the role will focus on the successful accreditation of the NADCAP quality standard, working with the operations team to improve the performance of the department and put the necessary documentation in place.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in all aspects of heat treatment in a small-batch, multi-process heat treatment department. Initially the role will focus on the successful accreditation of the NADCAP quality standard, working with the operations team to improve the performance of the department and put the necessary documentation in place. Alongside this project, there is also a significant upgrade programme underway which will require technical input to complete successfully.
Principal Accountabilities:
To ensure all heat treatment processes meet the requirements of the specifications.
To lead the team in achieving NADCAP accreditation on time and cost, including reviewing & generating required documentation and introducing any changes to working practices.
To liaise with third party suppliers to the department regarding calibration and material supply.
To audit processes and ensure compliance to customer requirements.
To undertake general testing requirements to ensure equipment is operational.
To review technical information and present it to technicians in the form of technique sheets.
To review specifications and raise necessary paperwork to request any necessary changes.
To participate in Quality investigations.
Personal Characteristics:
Degree qualified/or equivalent and relevant experience of heat treatment preferably in the Aerospace industry.
Experience of the heat treatment of ferrous materials including surface treatment and vacuum brazing operations.
Experience of a similar role within a manufacturing environment, including proven ability to interpret technical information and determine correct processing parameters.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, specifically of technical information.
Ability to generate quality and technical documentation.
Good interpersonal and persuasive skills.
The ability to tackle day-to-day issues whilst taking a strategic approach at all times.
