Mechnical Design Engineer
Heanor, Derbyshire
ŁNegotiable depending on experience
Working hours 37.5 per week, 8:30 to 5:00 with 1 hour for lunch
You will have a design engineering background and be qualified to degree standard. Self-motivated you will be able to focus on the demands of a busy office environment whilst working in a team structure. The ability to make decisions and judgement in a contractual situation involving large value components is essential, as is a full understanding of the technical issues in the design of the product.
Applicants to be qualified to degree level in a related discipline and preferably experienced in the practical application of noise control techniques. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Duties and responsibilities include:
Preparation of mechanical acoustic design solutions for a range of noise control equipment.
Reviewing of client specifications, clearly identifying technical/engineering requirements.
Ensuring timely completion of complex design engineering work
Selecting materials and developing product designs, whilst considering technical, commercial and manufacturing constraints.
The successful applicant must be prepared for international air travel, sometimes at short notice. Offshore working may also be required. Knowledge of computational techniques would be advantageous but not essential. (this is not very often - one or two days every six months or so).
