The Unilever Food and Health Research Institute (UFHRI) is Unilevers central research institute for the Food Business. UFHRI creates and delivers business relevant and unique solutions underpinning brand innovation programs, based on scientific and technological capabilities.

The Department Process Science industrializes innovative product concepts, by hygienic, safe & stable, cost effective design of equipment, processes & supply chain.

Within this department, the Production Engineering skill-base aims to use fundamental understanding of production-/ mechanical engineering principles to deliver the best industrial production (conceptual) method. Do you find in challenging to enhance our skill-base team in the role of a:

Job content:
•Develop and implement novel production solutions (or improvements) and innovations into food manufacturing
•Create, build and maintain expertise on product/format handling and assembly systems within the area of production engineering
•Propose and carry out applied research necessary for project delivery
•Contribute to internal and external research projects and collaborations
•Providing input into various projects and multi disciplinary teams, which will require independent planning and execution of tasks

Job requirements vacancy number 7596:
•PhD in Mechanical engineering or MSc with relevant experience
•Proven record in model based design and optimisation techniques in the area of mechanical systems dynamics, kinematics and strength/fatigue of materials.

Job requirements vacancy number 8439:
•PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or MSc with relevant experience
•Proven record in model based design and optimisation techniques in the area of production engineering, with a combination of specializations in engineering mechanics, material science and reliability

General job requirements:
•Fluent in English, both written and oral (Dutch is not essential)
•An active external network in would be an advantage
•An open and challenging mind seeking
•Independently setting up and carrying out research projects
•Good team player with strong communication skills (both written and orally)
•Excellent scientific skills and practical creativity
