Our client is a world-leader in the design of precision materials and structural testing machines, used for testing all types of component and materials, from elastomeric, metals, or composite specimens to vehicles, structures and buildings. Their customers come from many industry sectors, from biomedical applications to aerospace and Formula 1 teams and their design offices and factory in High Wycombe are responsible for the design and manufacture of their Dynamic and Thermal product lines.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will join the team which is responsible for the design and manufacture of bespoke systems where the bespoke content is below 50 hours of design time. You will be involved in:

•Working with Marketing & Sales colleagues to develop a costed proposal to meet the customers requirement
•Designing a cost-effective solution that is easy to manufacture & meets budget, quality, performance, serviceability and safety factors
•Planning, budgeting and organising the resources to build the solution
•Evaluating and testing the solution to ensure it meets specification

THE PERSON
You will be educated degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject. You will be a proficient user of any 3D CAD system (preferably SolidEdge), be able to carry out some theoretical design studies and some basic stressing of components.

You will be a good communicator, have good time management skills, enjoy carrying out original design work, have a can-do attitude and can manage multiple small projects concurrently.
