Mechanical Production Technician
Our Client is seeking a Mechanical technician to join the CPS manufacturing team.
The main activities will be for orbital welding of the propulsion system, pipe bending, and precision cleaning of the combine propulsion system.

Our Client is seeking a Mechanical technician to join the CPS manufacturing team.
The main activities will be for orbital welding of the propulsion system, pipe bending, and precision cleaning of the combine propulsion system.
Typical activities may also include preparation and adhesive bonding of mechanical and thermal components including strain gauges, testing and integrating initiators into Pyro-valves, assembly and integration of Thruster units, bonding and installation of flight brackets, configuration and installation of propellant and pressurent tanks and main engine.
Experience of working within an aerospace industry will certainly be an advantage.
Knowledge of carbon fibre laminate, lay up and bonding processes would also be advantageous, as would being familiar with class 100,000 clean room practices.
The successful applicant will be familiar with and able to work with shop documentations such as drawing, work instructions and bill of materials to standard processes and procedures.
It is vital that the successful applicant can work as part of a successful and motivated team and also handle the pressures of working to tight schedules to meet deadlines.
From time to time you may be asked to work off site to complete open items, this may in the UK or abroad.
As the work may be varied across different disciplines of the CPS manufacturing department, the successful applicant must be both flexible in their work and a quick learner so as to pick up new skills quickly and to the required standard to meet quality, cost and delivery.
Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential: Essential: C & G or NVQ Equivalent Mechanical
Desirable: Essential: C & G or NVQ Equivalent Mechanical
Previous Experience
Essential: : Aerospace industry; with a sound mechanical assembly and carbon fibre laminate lay up and bonding knowledge is advantageous, as well as being familiar with class 100,000 clean room practises.
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
Given the nature of their work, our Client needs to obtain security clearance for all its employees. Sadly this is extremely hard to secure for non-British applicants. In effect this means that our Client can only consider British passport holders for this position.
