My client is a technology-leading manufacturer of specialised products for Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM).
Based at Abingdon in Oxfordshire and includes R&D, production test and applications laboratory facilities.
They wish to recruit a Mechanical Production Engineer to work within the Manufacturing Team.
The job includes design and manufacturing support for production projects.
There are also specific tasks associated with cost reduction, process and quality improvement, releasing development projects to production, creating internal documentation, liaising with partner companies and assessing sub-contractors.
You should have mechanical engineering qualifications, a hands-on engineering background and experience in design for manufacture. An understanding of 3D CAD is important, as is the ability to document information and processes.
You should preferably have knowledge and experience of scientific instruments, vacuum technology, cryogenics and small mechanisms.
