Description
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Inspector to work for a large defence company. The position is offering a 6 month contract, with competit
ve rates. Description: Inspection of both machined and sheet metal fabrications, to include verification of welding, plating and painting, carried out within the manufacturing facility. Inspection will be against either our clients or customer generated technical drawings. It would be ideal that the applicant would have successfully completed an indentured apprenticeship, preferably in the aerospace industry; in a mechanical engineering field and have experience of working in an inspection environment to a minimum level of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and have the ability to read technical drawings. Duties will include: ?Inspection, against technical drawings, of a wide range of components manufactured within the workshop and those received from external suppliers. ?Ensuring that documentation received has been completed correctly. ?In the event of identifying a non conformance, to raise the relevant documentation and be prepared to detail the non conformance to the relevant authority. ?Where applicable to advise manufacturing personnel on work/ job related issues or concerns. The candidate will ideally be Competent in: Experience of using the full range of mechanical inspection measuring instruments/ equipment including: ?Micrometers (external, internal, bore, thread) ?Calipers ?Inspection grade slip gauges ?Height gauges ?Plug, ring and thread gauges. Preferable Beneficial Competence of: Experience of the following would be of benefit: ?CMM (Mitutoyo M COSMOS would be of particular benefit) ?Familiarity in the use of Word, Excel, Access software packages.
