A Mechanical Fitter/Technician is required by a Consultancy in the Warwickshire area.
The successful candidate will be required to plan and carry out all aspects of preparation for a wide range of tests (Vibration, Temperature, Humidity etc), including manufacture and assembly of steel and aluminium fixturing and rigging test set-ups, under minimal or detailed instruction from Test Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background in performing general fitting / fabrication activities. The role will require a level of initiative and self motivation and will require working on and around large machinery, manual lifting and a level of physical fitness.
Skills Required:
-Working to UKAS Accredited Operating Procedures
-Reading basic engineering drawings
-Accurate marking out
-Drilling and tapping, using pillar and radial arm drills
-Using both manually operated and powered saws
Useful Additional Skills:
-Welding using MIG and Oxy/Acetylene equipment
-Forklift truck driving licence or experience
-Electrical crane operation
-Experience of working in a Test or Development environment
Level of Qualification:
Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and, or 3 years relevant experience.
