An opportunity to work at one of Europe's leading ship building facilities.
As a time served tradesman or equivalent, you will be involved in the construction of new surface ships for the Royal Navy, based within the Mechanical Engineering department.
You will be required to:
Read Isometric Drawings
Draw 3D View
Fit Pipe systems and associated equipment
Install machinery including main engines, gearboxes and propulsion shafts using detailed and precise alignment techniques to very close tolerances
Prepare seats for the above machinery
Test and commission new systems
If required, attend sea trials of completed vessel, running plant and machinery and carrying out watch keeping duties.
Marine experience is advantegous.
The basic salary is £21,008 with overtime premiums paid after 37 hours, as well as an uplift on shift work.
