Mechanical Engineer - Dumfries
Salary commensurate with experience
A vacancy exists with in the Design Department for a suitably experienced vehicle design engineer meeting the following requirements:
Mechanical design engineer, degree/HND qualified, professional status preferred.
Computer literate including MS Office and 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred, full training provided).
Ability to progress contract from initial customer specification through concept design, detailed design to full production drawings, bill of materials and customer acceptance.
Experience of current design practice of automotive systems (suspension, air conditioning, etc) and materials is desirable.
Thorough knowledge of current and developing vehicle legislation and compliance testing relating to low volume and specialist vehicles a distinct advantage.
Confident customer and supplier liaison abilities.
Must be able to work within a team or individually, to demanding timescales.
This position would suit a fully trained graduate seeking more varied experience or a more experienced engineer looking for a new challenge.
