Mechanical Design Engineer - Worcestershire
Mechanical Design Engineer sought by a medium-sized British company which develops & manufactures a wide range of scientific instruments for police and forensic science laboratories.
If you would like to join a successful, innovative and multi-disciplinary R&D team, engaged in a wide variety of projects, we would like to hear from you. Applicants should be proficient with 3D CAD modelling /drafting, preferably Solidworks, be able to produce engineering drawings and, ideally, be degree qualified (minimum HND)
Responsibilities
Working within R&D, predominantly with mechanical, electronic, firmware, software & optical engineers. Designing & developing the mechanical elements of company products.
Producing: -engineering drawings to the BS8888 standard - bills of materials - risk assessments - prototypes- Identifying & evaluating suppliers of materials and components.
Ensuring all mechanical aspects are compliant with the relevant national & international standards.
Where necessary designing & documenting testing to make sure products are safe & within specification.
Liaising with the production department to transfer new product into production in a timely and effective manner, resolving technical build issues.
Installing Solidworks upgrades and service packs.
Remuneration will include a competitive salary (up to £35k), pension contribution, permanent health insurance (income guarantee insurance) and a profit related bonus
