A Mechanical Draughtsman is required for Cummins Stamford to manage and implement all mechanical and electrical design draughting and to check all engineering drawings for assembling and manufacturing at the direction of the VSIG Engineering Manager.
A Mechanical Draughtsman is required for Cummins Stamford to manage and implement all mechanical and electrical design draughting and to check all engineering drawings for assembling and manufacturing at the direction of the VSIG Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and implement all design draughting to agreed schedules
• Check all engineering drawings issued by VSIG designer draughtsmen and modify the drawings to suit assembly and manufacturing
• Be involved in the designing stages of the new products
• Manage all changes requested by the electronics and mechanical engineers regarding the VSIG products
• Contact with suppliers as necessary to resolve supplier caused issues specially metalwork problems
• Implement CGT process/standards of drawing and draughting
• Addressing personal issues within the team and providing support where necessary and appropriate
• Providing technical information as required to all internal functions and technical data to customers as required
• Interpreting and applying relevant National and International standards for Design and Quality Assurance
• Carry out duties in line with the Company Quality Policy Statement and be flexible in offering assistance in times of high workload and as directed by the VSIG Engineering Manager

Essential Skills:
• Preferably educated to degree level in Mechanical engineering
• Experience with excellent working knowledge of 3D and solid modelling software preferably Pro E platform
• Attention to detail
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software
• Teamwork in VSIG and CGT
• Self motivated
